The Cat in my Life

Being a fur parent is not as easy as you thought it would be. Having a cat is like having a child. You will have to feed them, bath them, dress them up if its cold, give all your attention to them, and take them to the vet every time they get sick which makes it not only hard to take care a cat, but also expensive. Even though it is quite hard and challenging, it is worth it to have a cat.

Cats can heal your pain. This might sound like a joke, but it is real. They may not be able to heal us physically, but they can heal us mentally. Having a cat is like having an emotional support. Just by looking at their cute face can lighten up your mood. Their purring sounds can make you calm down. Their little biscuits can help you relax. They will also check you every night if you are still breathing because they think of you as an important person in their lives. Everything that they do is just so cute that you will be in a good mood jut by looking at them. It’s like therapy just without a payment.

But at the end of the day, cats don’t live as long as we can. Their lifespan is only 12-18 years unlike us humans. The time will come that we will have to say goodbye to our fur babies. As a fur parent, I don’t think I can handle it if my cat dies. They are the ones who made us feel better, made is overcome depression and stress, but by the time they disappear in our lives, we will go back to zero again. This is the reality that hurts so much. So, let us all love our fur babies and give them the life best life that they deserve.
